Jill Soffer
Luxury Interior Design + LEED Building

Since 1995, I’ve been in the business of renovating, building and designing homes. My first project was the gut renovation of a 1902 beach bungalow in Santa Monica. I kept the charming and changed the clunky, taking cues from the clear beach light and the lush green garden. Thus my interest in history, architecture, color and nature became my professional path.

I grew up playing on Walden Pond – skating on winter nights and swimming in the chilly spring. That’s where I learned to love the natural world and know that we have an obligation to protect it as best we can. In my work, I constantly seek out the most innovative and beautiful sustainable materials. The technology for water and energy conservation is constantly updating and I follow it regularly. I’m a LEED AP and a member of the US Green Building Council. I’m active on the Natural Resource Defense Council (NRDC) LA Leadership Council, a small group of socially-prominent donors engaged in environmental politics. I was educated at Brown University and Barnard College, where I focused on literature, Russian history, economics and voice.

Today, I live in Santa Monica, California and Carbondale, Colorado, with my husband, two sons, two dogs, five horses, and lots of goats, cats, chickens, turtles. I practice yoga, ride horses, swim and ride my bike on the beach.
